ARTIST STATEMENT

Questioning the Margins invites viewers to consider the edges—not as boundaries of exclusion, but as spaces brimming with creative possibility. This exhibition offers a reflective look at my work over the past several years, revealing an artistic progression rooted in exploration and discovery. Throughout my practice, I’ve been drawn to the edges of the visual plane—those liminal spaces where movement, tension, and balance coexist. I push toward the boundaries, yet always leave room to return to center, to find grounding within the composition. This dynamic interplay between edge and equilibrium mirrors the rhythm of growth itself—stretching, reaching, and then returning home.

My artistic journey began at a very young age, painting beside my grandmother at her kitchen table. Those early memories of color and curiosity became the seeds of a lifelong pursuit. Drawing from heartfelt memories and the quiet beauty of everyday life, I strive to evoke peace, balance, and a sense of serenity in my work. Nature remains a steady source of inspiration, as does my meditation practice, both of which cultivate the inner calm that anchors my creative process. Working primarily in acrylic and charcoal, I build layered compositions that emerge through intuition and dialogue—each mark an exchange between spontaneity and intention. My paintings invite viewers to pause, breathe, and enter a moment of stillness. In doing so, they too may find meaning at the margins—where tension gives way to harmony, and where the edges reveal unexpected depth.
