Norah Levine is an Austin-based artist whose dreamlike encaustic works blend photography with layers of beeswax, resin, and pigment. Rooted in her background as a portrait photographer, her paintings carry a deep sensitivity to light, emotion, and narrative.
Drawn back to the tactile, almost magical experience she first discovered in the darkroom, Norah creates multi-layered pieces featuring animals, children, and natural elements—symbols of innocence, interconnection, and quiet beauty. Her work is often described as ethereal, evoking wonder and stillness, and is collected and exhibited throughout the United States.
