Memory is never complete. We filter, edit, and reconstruct our experiences, choosing what to preserve and what to let fade. "Selective Memory" brings together four Austin artists whose works explore the subjective nature of remembering—how we hold onto fragments, reshape narratives, and create meaning from what remains.
Working across diverse mediums and concepts, each artist in this exhibition engages with memory in their own way. Some incorporate found materials and remnants of the past, movement, or precise detailed work, each mirroring how memories surface and dissolve. Their approaches vary widely, inviting viewers to bring their own experiences and interpretations to each piece.
Just as memory is deeply personal, art resonates with each viewer differently. What triggers nostalgia in one person might spark curiosity in another. What feels familiar to some may seem entirely new to others. This exhibition celebrates that individuality, creating a dynamic space where personal histories meet artistic expression. "Selective Memory" explores what we hold onto, what fades away, and why certain moments stay with us
Explore 'Selective Memory' and see what resonates, surprises, and stays with you.
