Born and raised in Central Texas, Katie is a mixed-media artist whose practice is shaped by a long-held conviction that the environments we inhabit — both physical and internal — are not separate concerns, but part of a single, continuous inquiry.
Drawing on her background in architecture (B.Arch, University of Texas) and psychology (M.A., Counseling Psychology, Pacifica Graduate Institute), she approaches art as a form of integration: a way of giving shape to what lies beneath the surface — creating spaces the viewer can enter and resonate within.
Her studio practice begins with listening. Through an intuitive, incremental process, she follows present-moment awareness rather than fixed form. The resulting work invites recognition rather than resolution, holding structure and emotional openness in equal measure.
