Cameron Sands is a visual artist based in Texas. Creative projects during his youth would eventually be connected to his studio practice. Cameron’s influences range from performing arts to architecture, nature, and psychology. He received a BBA degree from UT in Austin and studied painting at the University of Houston. The experience in formal art studio classes was wonderful, as well as teaching students in secondary school. Cameron considers a self-taught foundation to be the strength in driving his choices.
A Summer job in 1997 at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston sparked a curiosity that led him to experiment in painting. Cameron now focuses on his professional studio practice. He has had the opportunity to exhibit work in various solo and group shows. His artwork is included in private and public art collections. Cameron’s home and studio are in College Station, TX.
